Notes

Studio recording, July 1954 at Sun Studio, Memphis. The slapback echo on the guitar was achieved via studio tape delay, not the EchoSonic amp (which Scotty Moore acquired later). No pedals or outboard effects; echo was applied by Sam Phillips using a tape machine in the control room.

Difficulty

The riff is based on simple open chords and shuffle rhythm, but requires tight timing to lock with the slapback echo and dynamic picking for the classic rockabilly feel.
