Notes

Studio and live rigs are nearly identical for Trivium in this era (2021-2022). The riff section of 'The Phalanx' is played on a 7-string tuned to B-flat, using high-output active pickups. Pedalboard is minimal for rhythm: EQ pedal is flat or bypassed, noise gate is always on, and boost is used for tightening. Effects loop contains reverb and delay but these are not prominent in the riff section.

Difficulty

The riff section of 'The Phalanx' is technically demanding due to its fast tempo, intricate picking patterns, and the need for extremely tight palm muting and string control to maintain clarity under high gain.
