Notes

Studio recording, 1981 (Discipline album). Adrian Belew used the Roland G-303 to control the Roland GR-300 guitar synthesizer for the main riff. The JC-120 was the primary amp for clean, chorus-rich tones. All evidence points to the synth being the main sound source for the riff, not a traditional guitar amp tone.

Difficulty

The riff demands advanced rhythmic precision, even picking dynamics to trigger the synth cleanly, and careful control of note length and attack to shape the synth's envelope.
