Notes

Studio recording, circa 1996-1997 for 'Sketches for My Sweetheart the Drunk'. Mesa/Boogie Trem-o-verb used for gain tones, Fender Vibroverb used for cleans. Riff section is high-gain, so Mesa/Boogie is primary amp. No evidence of pedal use for main riff; distortion from amp. Effects rack (Alesis Quadraverb) used for reverb in some tracks, but not confirmed for this riff.

Difficulty

The riff requires tight, aggressive picking, dynamic control to avoid muddiness with high gain, and mastery of syncopated, complex rhythm patterns.
