Notes
Studio recording, 1990. Used on Alice In Chains' 'Facelift' album. For the solo, amp was reportedly cranked with all knobs on 10 through a 4x12 cab with Celestion Greenbacks, placed in a stairwell for ambience. No evidence of live rig or other amps for this specific solo.

tight and percussiveaggressive bridge pickup attackhigh-gain saturationcrushing and heavysinging sustainBritish crunchclear low end with growlscooped but present midsraw and uncompressedroomy ambience from stairwell mic'ing
Difficulty
The solo requires solid alternate picking at a fast tempo, aggressive bending and vibrato, and tight palm muting to match the song's heavy, percussive feel. While not highly technical, the speed and attack demand intermediate to advanced control.
