Notes

Studio recording, 1993 (Dookie sessions, released 1994). Mike Dirnt used his main '70s Fender Precision Bass for Kerplunk, Dookie, and Insomniac. For Dookie, he reportedly rented an active P-Bass for some tracks, but most sources and interviews confirm his main P-Bass was used for 'Welcome to Paradise.'

Difficulty

The part is fast and requires tight, consistent alternate picking with a pick, but is otherwise straightforward and repetitive, with little technical complexity beyond stamina and timing.
