Notes

Studio recording, 1969. Jimmy Page used a Gibson Les Paul Standard with PAF humbuckers for the main riff. The amp is widely reported as a Vox UL4120 for Led Zeppelin II sessions, not a Marshall. No evidence of pedals or effects for the riff section. No evidence of live rig or alternate guitars for the studio riff.

Difficulty

The riff requires intermediate slide technique, dynamic control for touch-sensitive amp response, and careful muting to maintain clarity and avoid unwanted noise.
