Studio recording for 'When Lightning Strikes' (2009, Sonic Boom album). Tommy Thayer played rhythm guitar on the riff section using a Gibson 1961 Reissue SG through his signature Hughes & Kettner Statesman combo and a late 70s Marshall Master Volume. No pedals or effects were used for the riff section; the tone is amp-driven. Live, Thayer uses his signature Hughes & Kettner DuoTone head, but the studio recording is confirmed to use the Statesman and Marshall. No evidence of effects loop or pedals for this section.
