Studio recording (1987/1988 for 'Surfer Rosa', used for the 2007 remaster). Joey Santiago used his black Les Paul Custom for solos, with the Marshall JCM800 as his main amp. No evidence of alternate guitars or amps for this solo. Effects are from period-correct pedalboard and amp. No evidence of effects loop use in studio.
