Notes

Studio recording for 'The Dark Pool' (2019). Guitarist Ethan McCann used a Mayones Regius Core 7 with Bare Knuckle Aftermath pickups. The amp tone was created in-the-box using Neural DSP Archetype: Nolly plugin, as confirmed by producer George Lever's Nail The Mix walkthrough. No evidence of traditional amp or cab miking for the riff section; all tones built in DAW.

Difficulty

The riff requires advanced palm muting, precise alternate picking, and tight rhythm control to maintain clarity and aggression at a moderate-fast tempo. The technical challenge is increased by syncopated patterns and the need for clean string muting.
