Studio recording, 1964. Dave Davies used a Harmony Meteor H70 through a slashed-cone Elpico AC-55 amp. No pedals or external effects were used; all tone came from the guitar and amp. No evidence of clean amp sections in the original recording—riff is always distorted. No evidence of a clean section in the studio version.
